Changes to Student Assessment Procedures
Following feedback from students and staff, BU’s official assessment procedures have been reviewed.
There are a few minor changes including rules around headwear, the use of smart watches and regulations for one hour exams.
For a summary of the changes check the Student Portal or download the updated Assessment Procedures Handbook to familiarise yourself with all Assessment Procedures.
Longer library opening hours for exams
Bournemouth House Library and The Sir Michael Cobham Library, the whole building including the tower, will be open longer over the exam period from Tuesday 6 May to Thursday 5 June. For full details visit the Library website.
Help Zone and Chat service times remain as normal. The telephone enquiry service is available 24×7.
External exam venues & parking information
The Citigate Centre is a new external venue which BU is using for some of the January 2014 exams.
The Centre is situated on Holdenhurst Road next to Dorchester House, opposite Bournemouth train station, the U1 bus stops directly outside the entrance. For more information please visit the Citigate website or the Exam section of the Student Portal.
Please note: There is no parking available at the Citygate Centre, but there are pay & display car parks nearby; see the Citygate website for more information. Please do NOT use Halfords or Staples car parks as these are for customers only, there are also time limits & charges for the ASDA car park.
The Carrington House Hotel (Ambassador Suite & President Suite) is situated on Knyveton Road.
The hotel car park is quite small & operates on a first come first serve parking basis. The car parking is free of charge and can not be booked in advance. There are alternative public pay & display car parks near the hotel.

Extension to Library opening hours
During the exam period, 18 – 30 January inclusive, The Sir Michael Cobham Library (all floors) and Bournemouth House Library are providing longer opening hours.
Monday – Friday, 8am – Midnight. Saturday and Sunday 10am – 10pm.
