Easter Vacation Bus Services

bu-bus-2The Bus for BU vacation service will run from Monday 30 March.

The U1 service will be running a vacation timetable between the Lansdowne and Talbot Campuses, with buses running every 30 minutes. Please be aware that the services from the Talbot Campus to the Lansdowne Campus will be diverting at Cemetery Junction for Dorchester House, before heading to the Lansdowne Campus.

The U3 service will be running a skeleton vacation service.

The U2, and U4 services will not be running during the vacation period. The BU key card can be used on the M1, M2 and 15 services. The 13 and 14 more bus services are also available through the BU key card.

Roadwork Disruption

RoadworksRoadworks in the local area are taking place from Tuesday 17 March to the end of the month and are likely to have an impact on travel times to and from the Talbot Campus.

Staff and students are advised to leave additional time for journeys to and from Talbot Campus by car or university bus.

Access to Talbot Campus from Monday 15 September

Over the summer, work on BU’s flagship New Academic Building started on Talbot Campus. The building, due to open in summer 2016, will host academic and support facilities, including seminar rooms, lecture theatres, break out space and catering facilities.

Due to the construction work taking place on site, temporary pedestrian routes are necessary and signs will be provided to guide on key preferred/shortest routes.

Pedestrians should remain on the pathways and follow safety instructions. The pedestrian path along the campus road will be re-routed through the student village – please do not walk on the campus road.

Cyclists should remain on the campus road (not pathways).

Students should also be aware that following recent feedback about the university bus services, some changes have been made to help make your journeys between campuses and around the Bournemouth area easier and more efficient. These changes will come into effect on Monday 15 September and more information about the different services can be found on the Bus for BU website.
