Bournemouth’s football team, AFC Bournemouth, made history last season when they won promotion to the English Premier League (EPL) for the first time ever. The EPL is the most watched league in the world with huge global audiences tuning into the matches. Bournemouth University is the official Higher Education partner of AFC Bournemouth and the partnership will continue for the 2015/16 season

As part of the activities to mark BU’s partnership for the historic season ahead, which kicks off on Saturday 8 August, we have entered a BU squad into the Bournemouth 10k run on Saturday 3 October 2015 and you could be in it.

The BU running team will, like a Premier League squad, be limited to 25 in number. BU has paid the entry fee for the team and the 25 places are now available to any BU staff member or currently enrolled student. As well as paying for your entry into the race, the BU running team will receive a team t-shirt and will need to be available for a photocall ahead of the race.

The 10k event is part of the Bournemouth Marathon Festival and is open to runners of all abilities.

You do not need to be an experienced runner to take on this challenge and there is time to plan a sensible training routine to enable you to successfully complete the run on 3 October.
