About the event
The opening concert of the Pavão Quartet BCMS Residency Project is the first in a series of six recitals by the Quartet over three seasons.
The concert will begin with music by Maddalena Lombardini, a contemporary of Haydn, who was probably the first female composer to be published. Followed by two of Hadyn’s works; combining one of his earliest mature quartets, and his last, unfinished quartet. Concluding with the much-loved Schubert String Quintet.
Full programme:
- Maddalena Lombardini-Sirmen Quartet movement
- Haydn – Quartet in E flat op.20 no.1
- Haydn – Quartet in D minor, op.103
- Schubert – String Quintet in C, D.956
