Bike Tagging at Talbot Campus

Wednesday, 14 October 2015 from 08:00 to 12:00

UniSNTAbout the event

The Uni Safer Neighbourhood Team will be providing free bike tagging on Talbot Campus on the 14 & 16 October on the cycle path behind Christchurch House.

We are working closely with Bournemouth Council to tag bikes using the Bike Register scheme. A UV stencil is applied to the frame of your bike and you are provided with a log book with your bike register number which is then registered online.

Your bike will be a less attractive target for thieves, and if stolen and recovered by the Police, your bike can easily be returned to you.

More information

Once registered your details are held on the secure online database, which Police Forces across the country have secure access to. If your bike is stolen you can ’flag’ it as stolen on the database. BikeRegister also provides protection for buyers and sellers of secondhand bikes. Your Log Book and provides proofof ownership for you and any potential buyer. If you are thinking about buying a secondhand bike you can also check a frame number with the BikeRegister database to confirm it hasn’t been reported stolen. Registering on BikeRegister means you could be reunited with your bike in the event of it being stolen, but it does not help make it a hard target to thieves.
