BackCare Awareness Week: 6-10 October

Monday, 6 October 2014 from 09:00 to Friday, 10 October 2014 at 17:00

Backcare-LogoEvery year the charity Backcare.org run a campaign to put the spot light on the prevention of back and neck pain. The purpose is to spread the word on ‘good posture’ and ‘stress free’ living for a healthy back. This year the Backcare focus is on the office environment. According to an NHS study, from 2010 to 2011 approximately 7.6 million working days were lost due to work-related back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders.

Guidance from Backcare on how to aid the prevention of back and neck pain is:

  • Stand, sit and move at your desk
  • Stretch your back at your desk at least every half hour
  • Set your workstation just right
  • Take regular breaks
