Alternative Therapy Taster Sessions

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, a Health and Wellbeing Day is held on Tuesday 6 October.

A range of activities are taking place on the day, including a range of alternative therapy taster sessions which will be available for staff and students.

To book, please email HealthandSafetyMailbox@bournemouth.ac.uk stating the name of the therapy you would like to try and preferred time. Your exact time cannot be guaranteed, so if possible, please state a couple of options for when you might be available.

The bookings will be made on a first come first service basis, with only one session per person and a confirmation will be emailed to you.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a treatment using massage and compression techniques to all areas of the feet or hands. It is a holistic treatment which means it treats the whole body. Benefits include: relaxation, reduction of stress levels, can ease back and neck problems and tension headaches. It is also good for clearing sinuses.

Bach Flower Remedies

Bach Flower remedies work on a mental and emotional level and can improve mental and emotional states. Good for stress, worry, confidence, mild to moderate depression.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Emotions and thoughts can create either a positive or negative reaction within your life. EFT involves tapping on energy meridians combined with affirmations which can help you to overcome self-doubt and reaffirm positive beliefs and behaviours. EFT can be used to help many things including:

Reduce cravings or phobias
Heal negative thinking patterns
Release old hurts and anger
Enhance sports performance
Enhance exam performance
Increase self-confidence
Improve focus

Within these 15 minute sessions, you will be shown how to use the technique and apply it to your personal situation and goals.

Indian Head Massage
