IoD_logo_bigThere is still time to apply for the IoD Student Member of the Year Award 2014. The deadline is coming up on Monday 30 June, so head to the IoD website to find out how to apply.

The award is open to all of the current IoD Student Members across the country and is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your talents on a national scale. They are looking for students who have worked on an exciting and innovative project, which falls into one of the following three categories:

  • Start up business idea
  • A project developed in your academic career which has commercial viability
  • A project in the course of employment that added value to the company

You will find full details of the application process and guidance on the IoD website. This will give you all of the information you need to know. To apply you must fill in the application form and complete a 2 minute video elevator pitch. All applications must be submitted by the 30 June 2014.

On the website you will find two different guides for the application process depending on whether you have funded membership for yourself, other whether your university has funded your membership.

If you have funded your IoD membership yourself, please submit your application to the IoD Student Membership team. Your application will be judged by an independent adjudicator.

If your membership has been funded by your university, you must submit your application to your university staff representative. If you are unsure of who this is please contact the IoD Student Membership team.

Entries will be shortlisted, and the top applicants will be invited to an assessment day. The winner will be announced at the national IoD Director of the Year Awards on 24 October. As well as the winner’s package, the IoD Student Member of the Year 2014 will receive post event publicity, including a profile in Director magazine!

Being a part of the student membership awards really does have its advantages and you can’t win if you don’t enter! Wishing you all the very best of luck.
