Send us a picture that best reflects your experience of BU and be in with a chance to win the Hotcourses Abroad Image Contest and a student bursary of up to £500.

Hotcourses Abroad is running a competition for staff, students and graduates of universities around the world. They’re looking for original, unique images which best represent universities to international students.

We think that BU’s pretty great, and that life in Bournemouth is worth sharing with the world, so whether you’re a budding photographer or an Instagram fan, email us an image you think best highlights the positive aspects of your BU experience by 27 March. We’ll post our favourites on the BU Pinterest page over the next few days and choose our winner on 28 March.

The winner will represent BU in the Hotcourses Abroad Image Contest. Hotcourses Abroad will post the image on their Facebook page, along with submissions from other universities around the world. Three bursary prizes will be awarded: £200 for 3^rd place, £300 for 2^nd place and £500 for 1^st place.

There’s also a £25 Amazon voucher up for grabs from Hotcourses Abroad, you just need to vote in the Image Contest and you’ll be added to their prize draw.

The small print

• Images must represent our institution to international students but the subject of the image does not necessarily have to be internationally-themed. For example, the image does not have to feature international elements (e.g. international students, flags etc.).
• Images must be original, creative and should capture something unique and special to you.
• If there are people in the picture, they must be our current students and you must have their permission to use the picture.
• Images should not have any logos or branding imprinted on them, and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
• The image should be a minimum of 490 x 270px. Ideally, we would prefer the image to be shot on an actual camera for quality purposes.
• We hold the right to reject any image which we feel does not meet the criteria or rules of the competition, or which we feel is derogatory, immoral or inappropriate.
• Only one image can be submitted per institution to the Hotcourses Abroad Image Contest and it will need to be vetted before being entered; The University reserves the right not to submit any winning image where it considers appropriate to do so.
• Images should not be part of any BU marketing or promotional material and should not include a logo or any national flags.

Disclaimer

By participating in the competition, you give the University permission:

(a)   to use your images in our social media as well as on all hotcoursesabroad.com websites and its social media and for publicity and marketing purposes
(b)   to mention your name in relation to this and the Hotcoursesabroad competition
(c)   if successful, to enter your image automatically within the Hotcoursesabroad competition as detailed above.

All entrants agree to take part in any publicity or promotion that may be organised by the University in relation to both competitions, whether or not their work is selected.

The University does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in either competition or being selected, save that the University does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury as a result of its own negligence

A maximum of one entry per Author is permitted and only one prize per entry will be awarded

The University reserves the right to cancel the competition or amend these rules at any time, without prior notice.

This competition and the rules are subject to and governed by English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of England and Wales.
