Benjamin Britten Festival
Posted on Friday, November 1 2013
Through a series of concerts and lectures, BU’s ‘Britten Festival’ commemorates the centenary of the composer’s birth in 1913 and the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War in 1914.
The events begin on Saturday 2 November, and the culmination of the festival will be a performance of Britten’s epic masterpiece, the ‘War Requiem’ in Winchester Cathedral in February.
Many events are free and do not require tickets. With the exception of the ‘War Requiem’ all events will take place on the university’s main Talbot Campus.
